“The Lee County Sheriff’s Office currently images all incident reports, booking reports and traffic crash reports. We store and retrieve the reports from an Image API EDMS system. In addition to the current reports, we are also in the process of imaging prior year’s reports. Productivity and efficiency has improved dramatically by eliminating off-site storage, reducing in-house storage, allowing us to electronically download computer generated reports, eliminating printing, and saving the time formerly spent pulling, copying, faxing, and mailing reports.

“We also work more efficiently by using the electronic redaction feature to block out confidential and sensitive information, which eliminates time spent printing and manually redacting reports. The system helps us provide better service to the public when reports are requested and allows for easier purge and destruction of records that have met the State of Florida retention requirements.”

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services

“The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (Department) strives to be at the forefront of systems development to make State government processes more efficient and effective. The Department’s Administrative Image Management System (AIMS) was developed as an enterprise application to provide employees with an electronic workflow for administrative services for requisitioning, purchasing, contract issuance, disbursements, vouchering payments, and research capabilities. The application was put into production in 2001 and is an example of a successful public/private effort with the benefit of public ownership of the resources. AIMS was developed approximately two years before the Legislature and Department of Management Services addressed the MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) On-line Procurement project.”
